I decided to try gardening this year - nothing too involved, just a little salad garden as an experiment to see whether I could keep plants alive instead of killing them (so far, all of the inside plants have died tragically). I started off with an heirloom cherry tomato plant, some cucumbers and peppers, and a few strawberry plants.
After the deer nearly finished off my tomatoes and strawberries, I surrounded my garden with netting and waited to see whether or not it would survive. It's been 3 months, and thanks to some wonderful friends, I've ended up with a bigger garden than I anticipated: 2 cucumber plants, 3 pepper plants, mixed lettuce, strawberries, 4 broccoli plants, chives, basil, dill, parsley, cilantro, and 12 tomato plants!
You can see all of the progress here in my photo album, if you like. I hope you enjoy!
